How do i do my taxes if i was on disability for 6 months last year?

I was in a bad car accident last may and was on disability in california until november. My work still paid me 60% of my pay while I was off and i have received my W2 form from them, am I waiting on any paperwork from the state? My bf told me that disability is a non taxable income.
