V6 or 4 cyl more fuel efficient?

Doesn't matter. If these hypothetical cars have the same specs but differing numbers of cylinders there would be no difference. It takes a certain amount of power to do a certain amount of work. Efficiencies depend on specific engines, not to general amounts of cylinders.
