Richard donner questions..PLEASE HELP! :(?

Richard Donner was one of the first pioneers of the buddy-cop movies hence the Lethal Weapon quadrilogy. His work is wide ranging from family fare Goonies to comic book Superman (first superhero movie). It's kind of hard to pin him down to one specific genre. His style, technique? I don't know I'm not a film student.
