How do I remove chewing gum from nice leather boots?
I have a pair of Frye boots made of nice, soft leather, the sort that almost looks oily. Anyhow, I managed to accidentally step on a (I ume sizable) piece of gum that got stuck to the bottom corner of my boot. I've searched possible removal techniques but all of them seem to focus on thicker, more durable leather, ie: leather chairs, car upholstery. Is there a safe way to remove this pesky adhesive from my boots without damage or staining? Or considering what's been done should I just suck it up and take them to a professional?
