Did you read the book Pretties or Uglies by Scott Westerfield?

I really need help. First of all, I love these books. I read Uglies awhile ago, so could someone give me the basic plot? I know the events, but i don't remeber the order! And in Pretties, when did Tally and Zane get the security cuffs? Was it after they broke the floating ice skating rink?
